In addition to the mechanical aspects of fitting a winch the Group's specialist winch installers are very experienced in vehicle hydraulics and electric's. For example, many vehicles include hydraulic cranes, and this experience ensures integration of the respective hydraulic circuits. All electrical wiring is Armaflex protected and connectors are selected with a high IP rating to prevent water ingress.
Modern Commercial Vehicles incorporate computer controlled engine management systems and in order to obtain the correct oil flow from the hydraulic pump when the vehicle is stationery, the correct engine RPM must be maintained. The BHW Group is an approved installer of the Siemens electronic control systems and these are incorporated and calibrated during the installation procedure.
EU Regulations apply to both the winch and its installation, in particular the Machinery Directive on Health and Safety. The BHW Group will ensure full compliance is achieved, issuing Declaration of Conformity Certificates as well as CE marking the product and its installation. Where appropriate the winching standards included in the recently introduced BS7901 are vigorously applied. The Group is also accredited to BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 Quality control standards.
